Ken Follett’s character development is hands down the best. You know each character as though they were standing in front of you. Then he gives you small snippets of many different emotions to keep you enthralled and pacing through each chapter. Jackdaws is a brilliant example of historical fiction at its best.

Six women are chosen to lead a daring mission into France that would drastically affect the course of the war. They destroyed a communications center disabling German communication on D day. A magnificent read!! My highest recommendation!!

Great story teller. Similar to Eye of the Needle in the timeline of the story. If you like the championing of homosexuals, and transgenders you will love this ‘fairy tale’. I could have done without that narrative.
