Sparking the Fire

Sparking the Fire

Kate Meader’s blazing Hot in Chicago firefighter series has “everything you want in a romance” (RT Book Reviews, Top Pick)! The flames of desire burn out of control in this sexy third novel when ex-lovers unexpectedly reunite for a sizzling affair that will have the director yelling, “Quiet on the set!”

Actor Molly Cade, America’s fallen sweetheart, finally has her shot at a Hollywood comeback with a dramatic new role as a tough-as-nails firefighter that promises to propel her back to the big time and restore her self-respect.

Wyatt Fox, resident daredevil at Engine Co. 6, needs a low-key job to keep him busy while he recovers from his latest rescue stunt. Consulting on a local movie shoot should add just enough spark to his day. Especially when in struts Molly Cade: the woman who worked his heart over good, and then left him in the Windy City dust.

Their story is straight out of a script: irrepressible, spunky heroine meets taciturn, smoldering hero. But these two refuse to be typecast, and when the embers of an old love are stoked, someone is bound to get burned…

  • I’m going to miss this family!

Another fun, drama filled story of the Dempsey family of Engine Co. 6! This is a great family and I've enjoyed their stories so much. Always a sexy hot read, with lots of family depth and humor thrown in! Scandalized Hollywood actress Molly Cade needs her latest film to go off without a hitch to earn back some respect for her tainted career! She wants every aspect of her action flick to be precise, so she is working with the best firehouse around to make it happen. Sexy loner Wyatt Fox needs something to keep him busy while he recovers from his latest hot-headed recovery stunt at the firehouse, so his Lieutenant sets him up to be the expert consultant on the movie set of an upcoming movie. He's trying to get out of it until he realizes it's a Cade Productions film. Molly Cade and he once burned up the sheets in a week long anonymous fling, so he can't pass up the chance to see her again!

  • Hot in Chicago

This is the third book in Ms. Meader's firefighters series and the eclectic group of siblings called the Dempseys. It is centered around Chicago Fire Station #6 where the Dempsey's are a big part of the fighting force, including Alex, the only sister who has made quite a name for herself as an advocate for women's rights in the workplace. Wyatt Fox one of the foster brother's is on three months of rehab leave after shredding his shoulder tendons in a rescue. He is offered the opportunity to be a liaison for a film company making a movie about firefighters. He is not excited at first, but when he hears the name of the producer/actress, Molly Cade he is all in. Five years ago he and Molly had a one night stand that lasted a week. A lot has changed, but he has never forgotten. Molly Cade was a rising star in Hollywood, until her former husband( also an actor) threw her to the wolves. Paparazzi, internet photos and a dead in the water career now haunt her. She is producing and starring in this firefighter movie she hopes can be patterned after Alex Dempsey's colorful career, but meets stone walls all along the way from the family. When she meets the liaison, Wyatt, she is excited, embarrassed and a teeny bit hopeful she might get to meet Alex, not to mention the sizzling attraction that still smolders between them. She never thought she would see him again after their hot encounter, but here he stands. "Fox. Wyatt Fox. License to thrill-and send your panties plummeting." This very entertaining novel can be read as a stand alone, but I highly recommend reading the first two books in the series to better understand the unusual dynamics of the Dempsey family. This book is sexy, funny and I couldn't put it down. I received this ARC from the publisher and NetGalley for an honest review. Pat Fordyce

  • Loved it

LOVED! This! Book! I'm so sad to see this series end but I must say Ms. Meader saved the best for last. Wyatt Fox is a sexy former marine working for the Chicago FD. As a member of the misfit Dempsey clan what else would he do?? He's a man of few words but with looks like that who needs words? While recovering from a recent injury he finds himself as a consultant on the movie set of Molly Cade. A woman he never thought he'd see again after their one night filled with passion. That one night wasn't enough for him so maybe the heavens have put her back in his life for a reason. Will Molly agree? For someone who really doesn't enjoy the limelight could he survive in her world? Could she give up the lights of Hollywood?? You definitely want to read this one and find out. Put this one on the must read list! I highly recommend it.

Smokin hot! There is just something about a man in uniform. Not only is Wyatt a firefighter but he's also a former marine. (You learn in the book not to say ex-marine) To top off his sexy career choices, he was also the silent broody type. That's a total win for me! Another total win for me is Kate Meader. This is the second book I've read of hers and I'm a big fan of her writing! She managed to not only make this story scorching hot between Wyatt and Molly, but she also had a great message about family. Not all of the Dempsey's are blood related but you can't find a closer bond. I absolutely loved the family dynamic! ARC provided by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
